FOSSILIA - Reports in Palaeontology is a project of the Earth Science Department of the University of Florence. The open access, peer reviewed, online publication of the "Volume 2018" (ISBN: 979-12-200-3408-1) gathers the research of young palaeontologists that attended the First Italian Meeting for Young Researchers - VPday, that was held at the Natural History Museum of Florence on the 14 September.

The goal of the VPday was to create a suitable event for young vertebrate palaeontologists (M.Sc. students, Ph.D. students, and Postdocs) to take stage and present the results of their work to other researchers, to exchange opinions, receive and give advice, and discuss different topics regarding Vertebrate Palaeontology, as well as to establish a network of interactions and potential collaborations.

The project found great support from institutions and national associations like the Earth Science Department of the University of Florence, the Natural History Museum of the University of Florence, the Earth Science Department of the University of Pisa, the Italian Paleontological Society, the Italian Association for the study of the Quaternary, the Italian Geological Society and the Palaeontologist in Progress.
